100% Design SA at Decorex Joburg 2017 – Exhibitor review
This year Inspire Trade Expo merged with 100% Design SA that ran alongside Decorex Joburg 2017, and Entrawood was there to showcase and launch our new product ranges.
The 100% Design South Africa Hall dedicated a section to office furniture as a category and Entrawood’s stand was bigger and better than ever before. Entrawood’s concept around THE MODERN WORKSPACE was very focused and the stand imitated an open plan office scenario, showing solutions for different activities. Launching 2 new ranges in both meeting and Acoustic booth categories – which both received plenty of attention and fantastic reviews – it was clear that Entrawood is a leader in the industry.
The Cocoon Range
The Cocoon Pod, Booth and Free-standing screen offers flexibility in how you work. In a fast moving, attention demanding work environment with many distractions the Cocoon range offers a calm “time-out” for those looking to recharge, refocus and minimise stimuli overload.
The design incorporated elements from both the Elevate storage range (frame), and the Salon soft seating range combined with considered proportions and materials to make this range part of the greater Entrawood/Entrakor corporate product family. The result is both comfortable, effective (acoustic dampening) and practical (plug-and-play) and you could work undisturbed and uninterrupted for 2-3 hours. Many expo visitors also came to have their picture taken in our blush pink and Grey Cocoon Pod – #CocoonPod 😉
The Shell Range
The Boardroom table (My absolute favourite new product) and Mobile TV stand received a lot of attention particularly from designers, and seasoned industry dealers. The boardroom table designs are organic and in beautiful proportions. The Fenix (Nanotech Matt material) soft touch finish on a plywood top with reverse chamfered edges inspired the range name “Shell range” (thank you Stuart Hockley). The mobile TV stand adds loads of functionality to your meeting space transforming it from a presentation room, to brainstorming room with a swivel of the stand.
We have received an increasing number of requests for a height adjustable desks, and after much consideration decided to offer our clients the Rise frame. It is from Europe, offers a 2 year guarantee on the motor, the frame can extend to accommodate desk tops sized between 1200 and 2000 and adjust between 650mm and 1300mm. The motion is speedy enough to satisfy but not too fast to spill your coffee and it is very quiet. The frame is minimalistic and that combined with the recommended Plywood tops fit in seamlessly with our Shell range. Even though there is a 8 – 10 week lead time of this frame, there is no minimum order quantity – Yay!
The Salon Range
The Salon range, was launched earlier this year at Design Joburg, and at 100% Design it was definitely the star of the show when measuring the surprised and delighted reactions of the general public. It was described as “Exquisite”, “elegant” and “perfect for…” We like to describe it as a “labour of love” because of the amount of time, effort and pride that we put into taking this range from concept to sellable product.
The Elevate storage and Platform were also present at the show and were strong reminders that even our standard office furniture items are show-pieces.
We always make the annual expo our deadline and platform to introduce new products to the market and what an amazing opportunity to see ideas and concepts come to life and to proudly present our products at one of the biggest Expo’s in Africa. This year has definitely been the most ambitious, challenging and rewarding one to date, it is an exciting time to be a part of Entrawood/Entrakor.
